An Unveiling of Sculptural Inspiration From New Mexico’s Natural Clay

[Santa Fe, New Mexico] - Tracy Hollister, a Santa Fean sculptor for her hand-built ceramics using New Mexico's natural clay and glazes, creates a unique experience that is symbolic of earth and sky, titled “Horizon.” The event is scheduled for Friday, September 20, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Bobby Beals Presents… (map).

Tracy's artistic journey takes attendees on a captivating exploration of physical expressions that mirror the diverse environment around her and her far-reaching interests. Inspired by the elemental landscapes of New Mexico, as well as the vibrant creative energy emanating from towns like Santa Fe, Taos, and Abiquiu, Tracy's work embodies a harmonious fusion of earthy colors, dynamic shapes, and contrasting textures, including high gloss.

"My creations are physical expressions reflecting the environment around me and my diverse, far-reaching interests. I love creating pieces that balance the masculine and feminine, and everything from traditional Japanese ceramic techniques and artistry to the use of wild-sourced materials can show up in my work depending on where my mind is. I merely go with the flow and see where the clay, energy, and creativity take me."
