Tracy is a self-taught artist and creator based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. From a young age, Tracy exhibited a remarkable blend of creativity and ambition.
Raised in Vermont and later settling in Colorado, frequent visits to Santa Fe ignited a profound affection for the town and the state of New Mexico as a whole. Driven by the allure of the Land of Enchantment, Tracy made the decision to relocate in 2013.
It was during a ceramics class that Tracy unearthed her true artistic calling and discovered her preferred medium of expression: clay.
Presently, she dedicates her time to crafting her distinctive ceramic works in her studio, reveling in the splendor of life in the enchanting state of New Mexico.
Artist Statement
“I create ceramic art that is meant to be inspiring and uplifting. It’s refined yet raw, elegant yet crude, functional yet something to be admired and contemplated.
With my work, I want to enkindle others to pursue their creativity and make the beholder feel the energy, care, and love that goes into each piece. I want my work to communicate and spark inspiration, life, and authenticity.
My creations are physical expressions reflecting the environment around me and my diverse, far-reaching interests. As with many artists before me, I’m deeply inspired and influenced by the elemental landscapes of New Mexico and the creative energy of its towns like Santa Fe, Taos, and Abiquiu. This is reflected in my use of earthy colors, dynamic shapes, and contrasting, evocative textures like high gloss. I love creating pieces that balance the masculine and feminine, and everything from traditional Japanese ceramic techniques and artistry to the use of wild-sourced materials can show up in my work depending on where my mind is.
